"A corrida do umbu é uma festa tradicional do povo pankararu, onde se encontra o primeiro umbu, que é um fruto típico da caatinga (umbuzeiro). E aí, quando se encontra esse umbu, tem uma celebração, e o fechamento dessa fruta. Por exemplo, eu falei um pouco da corrida do umbu, que vai ter provavelmente daqui um certo tempo, né, próximo do carnaval. E aí eu simbolizo essa corrida do umbu, através do fechamento do umbu, que é colocar a frutinha lá em cima. Então, da minha forma, eu tento ter essa conexão, e retratar essa festa aí."
