One of the biggest environmental problems in Brazil’s Amazon region is deforestation. It happens mainly because of agriculture and cattle ranching, but its effects reach far beyond farms. Deforestation impacts Indigenous communities, nearby cities, and even rural producers, because it changes rainfall patterns and reduces the availability of water. In the video below, you will learn about groups of people who are working hard to rebuild the forests — the “forest makers.”
